👊 The coach who's guiding us today

In this practice video session we feature Konstantin 'Konsti' Bitter, the head coach of MTV Allianz Stuttgart. Stuttgart is one of Germany's leading club programs, highly respected across Europe for its strong presence in numerous European Cup competitions.

In the 2023-2024 season Stuttgart won the German Supercup, the German Cup and became German Champion, acquiring an illusive 'triple' in the VBL, the Volleyball Bundesliga.

'Konsti' advanced through various roles at multiple European clubs, developing his skills as a scout and assistant coach in Switzerland and Germany. In 2023, he took the reins at Stuttgart, succeeding the legendary head coach Tore Aleksandersen.

Konstantin is surely one of a few young (born in 1989) and talented European coaches to keep an eye on.

Next to being the head coach of Stuttgart he also coaches Germany's talented U23 National Team.

⚡ What's inside the practice video clips?

In this article we show 2 practices at the end of Stuttgart's 2023-2024 season. Both practices are from Stuttgart's play off final series. (against Schwerin)

This gives us an interesting look into how teams prepare for a single opponent, during the hottest moment of their season, and how they regulate player fitness and technical abilities.

In the full video Coach Bitter will go into detail on:

  • Optimizing time for technical and tactical drills.
  • Adapting training methods based on the team's needs and the specific stage of the season, highlighting the importance of structure and routine.
  • Building familiarity and confidence among players.
  • Observing players' tactics and readiness, providing insights into their adaptability
  • The critical role of communication between coaches and players
  • Empowering players to select their own warm-up routines to optimize their readiness for practice and games.
  • and so much more...

Enjoy!

49 minutes of narrated practice video with Konstantin Bitter

This recording wasn’t just the typical 'show and explain exercise' format. Konstantin and I occasionally diverged onto related coaching topics. It's a blend of a Masterclass session and a practical video recording. That's fine...for once. 😄
